• Physie & Dance will help you to develop a strong core and muscular system. For us to teach you properly, we need to see your body when moving.
• For that reason, baggy clothes are not suitable for Physie & Dance (ie, school uniforms, tracksuit pants, flared dance pants, loose t-shirts/gym shirts). 
• The ideal Physie & Dance training wear is a tight-fitted crop/tank top, and sports leggings/hotpant style shorts. For our junior dancers, a leotard (either plain or APDA branded) is the optimal choice for training. The only exception is in term 1 when we encourage our Tiny Tots - 6yrs to learn to dance in a fairy skirt if they choose to.  ♡
• Hair is to be securely tied back and neatly off your face.
• We know how cold the Canberra Region can be. Our teachers will accommodate this, and it is advised to please layer up with long-sleeve-fitted activewear that can be quickly removed as you warm up.
• Socks must be removed before class starts. We dance in bare feet. Ugg boots and fitted wool leggings are a great way to keep the feet warm, prior to class in the colder months.

• All classes start promptly, so please be on time. We don’t wait for latecomers so if you are late, you might miss something important.
• If you cannot attend class, it is courteous to text your teacher directly in advance. She will do her best to reply when she finishes teaching.
• Please wait in the glass foyer area until the door to the hall opens and your teacher invites you in. 
• New Queans: If you are attending for the first time, please come over and introduce yourself to the teacher upon entering the hall. ♡
• Warmup and stretching: 7s and above, please come ready to dance. This means having a light stretch/warmup before entering the hall. We will teach you safe stretching programs in the first term. For 13s and above, Miss Lauryn maintains an ex-teacher/professional ballerina once taught her "Dancers should come to class warmed, having already broken sweat!" To this day, it remains her dance code.
• Please bring a water bottle to every lesson. Snacks are not necessary unless you have a medical need for them.

• Unlike other dance schools, Queans is a family friendly environment where we encourage club involvement. Parents and siblings are welcome to watch our classes in the glass waiting area, but we do as that noise is kept to a minimum to not distract the dancers.
• Our teachers pride themselves on being approachable, so if you would like to speak to your dancers class teacher, please text or email in the first instance. Between classes isn't the time to have conversations with class teachers as they are busy setting up for the next class. A list of phone numbers will be shared at the beginning of the year.
• Please ensure you are on time to collect your dancer after their class finishes. We are unable to supervise children outside of their class time.
• There are strictly NO photos or videos allowed within the class environment at any stage.
