Queans Physie & Dance
where passion begins & stunning technique develops
Forget dancing like noone is watching..
Dance like a toddler, they don’t even care if there is music! ♡
An evidence-based program where our Little Queans, develop gross motor skills, musicality and discover movement, body awareness and a passion for dance.
Fun, varied music choices and introduction of props and costumes, allow them to stay engaged and active week to week.
In class, they benefit from a teacher led program, but Tiny Tot members also receive a DVD so they can continue the fun at home!
Where it begins for all Junior Queans!
In these early ages, we focus on building a foundation of movement, gross motor skills, musical awareness and the gentle, yet exciting discipline of working towards the fun 'stage' performances and competitions.
The six foundational core Physie & Dance categories are introduced in an engaging and age-appropriate manner, fostering coordination, balance, visualisation, rhythm, flexibility and muscle control.
With their foundational skills all but learned in the 5yrs-8yrs classes, it is time to focus on perfecting technique, developing artistry and deepening flexibility and strength.
By this age, our Junior Queans have often learnt Physie & Dance techniques. They might have been to dance or gymnastic classes, or they may be brand new. Either way, now we start strengthening them as dancers and artists.
In this class, Junior Queans develop their confidence and identity as dancers and performers.
the Elite and ultimate dream of our Junior Queans
Never danced before? This is your chance, Quean!
Did you know APDA offers a Novice category for this section? Beginners and girls who have never made nationals in any other Physie code are all eligible!
This class is also a beautiful way to complement your current ballet, rhythmic gymnastics, dance routines and further develop your existing Physie practice.
This age group builds on what you have learned in Junior Queans and prepares you as a dancer for APDAs Elite Sections.
There is nothing an APDA Elite Senior can't do! These women are at the peak of their Physie & Dance experience and technique and are simply extraordinary to watch.
Be prepared to be stretched and challenged. Be prepared to be awesome!
Taught by dancers for dancers, we encourage you to email us directly to express your interest.
Sometimes a bit of one-on-one time is what you need to develop and refine.
Queans privates may be offered as competition season approaches. All students have the opportunity available and it is a key value of the Queans teaching team that time is shared equally between all students.
Please note whilst Private Classes are open to all Queans they are not a replacement for class time and are offered at the discretion of your class teacher.
we dance, we socialise, we socialise some more... & we continually develop our technique
Did you dance once upon yesteryear and find you now only have gym, Zumba or Barre as an option?
Queans Beginner Ladies classes are a fabulous place to start relearning your forgotten skills, or even an entirely new direction in dance.
Classes are taught by highly experienced teachers, require an annual commitment and ultimately finish as big social events!
The beauty of attending with the same ladies each week is exactly what Queans is all about. Get ready for a wonderful, joyous new social circle!
Depending on which lady you speak to will depend upon the reason they love this class!
Some ladies will be die-hards, having done Physie since childhood, some will have returned after a bunch of years off and some will have graduated after a few years in the Beginner Ladies.
Ultimately, the level and depth of experience in this class is phenomenal!
Queans Ladies is where Physie wisdom shines, where passion & commitment unite and where we share our time and stories, dancing as a group altogether.
Taught by Queans for Queans.
With strength and flexibility concepts based on Progressive Ballet Techniques, Pilates, and Ashtanga Yoga. Queans Conditioning Classes are programmed to be complimentary to and in support of your regular APDA class.
