Calling all Dancing Queans!
Queans Physie & Dance is a fresh & exciting space for all Dancers & Physie Girls. Focused on bringing quality teachers & Physie & Dance experience to the Canberra & Queanbeyan regions. We welcome dancers of all ages & abilities!
Combining various dance styles such as contemporary, ballet, jazz, and pilates, APDA Physie & Dance classes offer the perfect blend of creativity, strength building, flexibility, discipline and lifelong friendships.
"APDA Physie & Dance" is not just another dance or physie class, it is a unique and exciting Australian dancesport that draws on a rich history dating over 130 years but with the much-needed contemporary and 'evolved' approach to movement that APDA is renowned nationally for.
APDA classes allow you to explore your passion for dynamic choreography and dance without the costs or physical prerequisites associated with traditional dance classes in a fun, yet challenging, health and fitness-based environment. You will develop friendships for life with others who all share your passion as you progress through APDA's age and skill-based classes.
Classes are designed to cater to all ages and skill levels, from beginners to advanced dancers.
We learn up to six, age and genre-specific routines each year to modern pop music. These dances, or 'the APDA annual syllabus' are founded in quality, safe ballet & dance technique and change every year, challenging us each lesson to embrace our technical and artistic best. Further, as though unintentionally, we strengthen our bodies through the fun, variety and repetition offered within the APDA class format.
By learning many dance styles within one class, we develop confidence and sensibility to both physical and expressive performance, and the stage performances and competitions develop focus, discipline, commitment, goal setting and motivation. All fantastic skills to develop in life!
Beyond the physical benefits, APDA Physie & Dance provides a welcoming and encouraging community atmosphere that empowers and encourages women.
Whether you are a seasoned dancer or stepping onto the dance floor for the first time, Queans Physie & Dance, a family-friendly 'club' environment, rather than traditional ‘dance school‘, welcomes you with open arms.
Prepare to be inspired, challenged, and uplifted as you embark on this incredible adventure with us. We can't wait to dance with you, Quean!

A great dance teacher goes beyond just teaching technical skills. Their ability to harness their passion for dance and create a strong sense of community among their students sets them apart. By fostering a supportive environment, they inspire their students to reach their full potential and truly enjoy the art of dance.
Teaching Physie & Dance is an intricate skill that is honed through many years of experience and dance training.
The calibre of teachers at a club serves as a testament to its overall excellence. While perfecting dance steps and choreography is important, the ability to effectively convey and instil this knowledge in students is equally as valued. Just as much as the ability to foster a nurturing, supportive and encouraging environment whatever stage of your dance journey you are at. In addition, a good teacher will have an appreciation and understanding of other styles of dance and how to train a student's muscles to adapt quickly.
At Queans Physie & Dance, all our teachers possess a wealth of respected accomplishments within their dance careers as well as having excelled in their teaching abilities, with a "teamwork makes dreamwork" approach.
Queans Physie & Dance teachers take great joy in imparting their expertise and love for creating exceptional performance outcomes and life skills within our students.
